Project Smile

Here's what's keeping me happy these days:

  • Sewing projects.  Hello, nesting.  I've even been sewing for other people.  Nothing like fulfilling your nesting needs and getting paid at the same time.
  • This fantastic snow!  The 'Blizzard of 2011' was a tad anti-climactic, but MacGyver got to spend a whole day with us, which was great.  And by great, I mean I slept in and sewed all day.
  • The Sunbean has an 'eggoo' in the front yard.  In case you don't speak toddler, that's an igloo.  MacGyver made it for her, and she loves to play inside.  It has seats and a window.  She runs around all day calling herself a penguin.
  • I made up a recipe the other night.  As in, didn't have something in front of me telling me what ingredients to add.  Nothing exciting, but it fulfilled my craving for Chinese food and there weren't any leftovers.
  • This is definitely making me happier than it should, but I went to check out the Peg-Perego stroller at the outlet and I LOVE it.  Like, seriously made my day.  The Sunbean cried when we left.  I think she liked it, too.  The best part?  $150 less than retail.  Score.
  • And finally, Netflix during naptime.  Need I say more?

Project Smile

Look at me, totally on the ball here.  Project Smile for November and it's only December 2nd.  Woo.

But for starters....does this shot from our Christmas card photo shoot not just make you grin?

Here's my list of smile-inducing moments these days:
  1. The Sunbean's newest phrase:  Hey - I've got an idea!
  2. Netflix instant streaming.  Love it.
  3. The Christmas present sitting under the tree with my parents' names on it.  We scored a sweeeeeet deal on Black Friday and I can't wait to give it to them!
  4. The Christmas tree.  Oh, so pretty.  I just love this time of year.
  5. MacGyver just found out he will be done with school in June, six months earlier that we'd thought.  Oh, heck yes.
  6. Tide To Go pens.
  7. Sesame Street Live tickets (2nd row) for just $30 each.  The Sunbean is going to go crazy.  Being a parent is so fun!
  8. There is SNOW on the ground.  I. love. it.
  9. I'm making cookies this afternoon with my little girl.
Life is good.

Project Smile

I really love reading this on others' blogs, so I'm participating this month.  Go me.

Here's what makes me smile:
  • The holiday drinks at Starbucks.  Yes, you can get a peppermint hot cocoa any time of the year.  However, it tastes better when in a red cup in November and December.  True story.
  • Happy helpers at the Primary activity day.  It's over, kids were happy, church is clean.  I heart my Primary leaders.
  • It snowed yesterday.  Seriously, seriously made me smile.  November and December are my favorite months out of the year.  I love an early snowfall.
  • Girls' Night Out last night with my gals.  I had a great time watching others make fools of themselves with the wii dance games.
  • My new hair.  It is easy and I get lots of compliments.  Gotta love that.
  • My ever-expanding uterus.  Even though I'm still spending some time bending over the toilet, I love this.  I spent my entire pregnancy with the Sunbean wishing time away, just hoping I'd end up with a healthy baby.  I'm feeling so laid-back this time, and I'm loving being pregnant.  It's a good feeling.
  • The leftover cupcakes from this morning's activity.  Heck yes.
  • Cozy socks.
  • We realized yesterday that MacGyver will be done with school in just one year.  Oh, happy day.  We can see a light at the end of the ridiculously long tunnel.
  • Leftovers for lunch.
Your turn...link up and share some smiles!
